What Does Your Child’s Choice of Bike Colour Say About Their Personality?
Who remembers their first bike? I remember having a red trike and then having a red and yellow BMX. There are so many bike colours you can get now. My daughter recently chose a dark pink one for her Christmas/birthday present. Getting a bike is always a big thing when you are a kid. A very special moment. But what does your child’s choice of bike colour say about their personality? This post explains more.
A first bike is a meaningful milestone. Like cars for adults, the colour choice of seminal vehicles can reveal the developing personality of the owner. Co-founder of Banwood, Frida Jonsby loved her vintage childhood bike so much she tried to recreate it and founded Banwood in the process!

Banwood delved into psychologist research based on car colour choices to see what a child’s choice of bike colour can tell us about the person they are becoming.
Red
Red bike owners can be high-energy, dynamic, and love to socialise with new people. They may grow up to be the life and soul of the party!
Green
Children who choose green bikes can be grounded and humble and avoid any drama. They may grow up to lead a well-balanced and down-to-earth life. Children opting for darker shades tend to develop more traditional tastes than those choosing brighter greens.
Blue
Blue bike owners like to stay safe. They have a natural air of calm confidence and are not easily fazed. They may grow up to be trustworthy and faithful friends.
White
Children who choose a white bike can show high levels of tidiness (excellent news for parents). As they grow up they may become highly organised, and work hard to achieve a high status within society.
Pink
Children with pink bikes aren’t afraid of the spotlight. They are bright, bubbly and bold – and have a heart of gold. They are likely to grow up to be warm, loving adults.
“Cream and pink are the most popular choices of Banwood bikes, trikes and scooters purchased in the last 12 months.” Frida Jonsby, Banwood Founder
Purple
Children with purple bikes want to be perceived as original and unique. As they grow up they will love to make a statement and stand out from the crowd.
Yellow
These children often have a sunny nature. They are bursting with energy and may grow up to always look on the bright side of life.
Grey
Owners of grey bikes can have a sensible and practical nature, often more interested in how the wheels spin than the aesthetics. They may grow up to be reliable and tend to conform to society, often shying away from the spotlight.
Gold
Children who fancy gold bikes may love the comfort and can’t resist a little glamour. They may grow up to enjoy the finer things in life!
Black
These kids have great style. They also appreciate control, but often take a reserved approach, avoiding loud situations. They may grow up to be sophisticated and avoid drama.
