Easy Ways To Boost Your Self-Esteem

We all have those moments where we look in the mirror and find the smallest detail to criticise ourselves about or an imperfection that literally no one else can see. It can be tricky at times to always feel confident and happy about the skin you are in when you are constantly comparing yourself to others on social media. However, there are ways in which you can at least try to boost your own self-happiness and esteem and get out of any bad habits. So if you need a little boost then read away.

Take a Social Media Detox

Have a look at your friends list on social media and really decide whether you need to be following this person online. If they constantly make you feel bad about yourself because they are always posting ‘perfect’ photos then reevaluate whether you need them in your life, especially if they are a complete stranger.

If you don’t even chat to each other then perhaps unfriend them and only keep friends on your social media that you genuinely care about and who care about you. It can also be very useful to have a regular social media detox and get out of the habit of scrolling through Instagram before bed or during your work break. It is not going to do you any favours and will only serve to make you feel miserable about yourself and where you are in life.

Write Positive Notes To Yourself

Writing down a few words each day and sticking them somewhere you can easily see them such as on a post-it note on the wall or on your bathroom mirror can be a great way to remind yourself that you are doing ok in life and help you to feel more positive about yourself and where you are in life. They can be short words or mantras such as ‘you are amazing’, ‘keep going’ or ‘today is going to be a good day’, can help create a more positive mindset and help you to feel more confident about yourself.

Keep a Journal

Another way to boost your self-confidence and remind yourself that you are good at what you do and can achieve anything you want is to keep a journal. Here you can keep note of any emotions or thoughts that you might be feeling. It will also allow you to plan ahead and give yourself small targets or achievements to work towards. You can then look back and tick off all the things that you have achieved and how it made you feel. Writing things down can make them feel more real and achievable. So you will be surprised at how keeping a journal can help to boost your own self confidence.

Smile Away!

People respond well when you give them a nice smile. If you feel very self conscious about your teeth then it can be worthwhile going to the dentist to give them a good clean or have braces fitted at Wahroonga Dental. This will help you to feel more confident about smiling away at people and feeling more confident about yourself.

With these suggestions you can soon make a positive difference in your life and help to boost your own self-esteem in no time.
