What Gets Your Social Media Posts Noticed?
Regardless of your reasons for posting, one of the most disheartening things is to see your posts getting very little engagement at all. There are plenty of mistakes that could be ruining your social media experience but here we’re going to look at how you can make your social media posts a lot more noticeable.

Hashtags and trends
Some social media platforms are very useful, highlighting the hashtags and the trending topics that are getting the most attention at the moment. If you can take advantage and make posts that are relevant to these trends, then you can momentarily catch the attention of an audience much bigger than usual. If you keep at it, consistently, then you might be able to maintain that enhanced visibility for longer.
Great images
There is one truth that every social media marketer will learn at some point. Posts that have images are more engaging than those that do not. Try to ensure that you have enticing graphics for your posts. Something as simple as the right, relevant stock photography can immediately make it stand out from the sea of text-only posts. Using things like infographics can also help you deliver information much more quickly than a thread of tweets.
Quality video
To complete the common phrase, image is more engaging than text alone, video is more engaging than text. Getting good video can be pretty tough for social media. Aside from the fact that it needs to be short and relevant, you want any videos you use to grab at the attention of the viewer in mere moments, otherwise, you can lose them to the pull of the scroll just as easily as you got them.
Invite feedback
A particularly hot take or salient point can get you a lot of attention on social media, but what about when you don’t have that to work to? Asking questions can be a great way to get people to spend a little more time thinking about your post. You want to slip the questions in there naturally as, if you add a question that feels irrelevant to the other point or value of the post, it can come across as a bit marketing-focused.
Notice your own trends, too
We’re not just talking about the trends in the hashtag and trending section of your platform. Keep an eye on the trends in your own posts and what gets the most attention, too. As you do, you will likely notice that your most popular posts fit many of the points above, but there might also be distinct and unique qualities to your own most popular posts that are worth replicating. Track your social analytics to see which posts are doing best.
Once you get your posts noticed and people start clicking on them and commenting on them, make sure that you respond. Engagement leads to more engagement and, just like you, people don’t want to go to the effort of posting only to see that nothing in return for it.
